PLAIN (For Guardian or Watchdog)

These handles are sized to fit our Watchdog and Guardian collars. The screws listed for sale here will fit our collars crafted after Oct. 31, 2023. Prior to that date, many of our handles were made with a thicker BioThane material. The screws used to attach those handles were longer. Please contact us if you need to purchase those longer screws.

Screws are tightened very snugly before we send the collar to you. This is to ensure that they do their job and stay put! Please note that in about 5 years of making BioThane, we have never run across a screw that we could not remove. However, there have been a small handful of absolutely hateful screws that gave us a VERY hard time. The most difficult removals are almost always black screws. The powdercoat seems to make them susceptible to sticking. For this reason, we suggest you try removing the handle screws BEFORE placing an order for a new handle. Remember, handles are made-to-order and therefore we do not take returns.

Our greatest weapon is an 8V electric screwdriver with amazing torque. Sometimes we have to tighten the screw a little more before backing it out. Not sure the physics of why this works, but it often does. Put the screws against a silicone or grippy mat or even a rubber jar opener. This will help protect the surface of the screw and assist with grip to back out the screw. If it doesn't come out easily on the first try and it spins a lot, be careful, it may be hot! Let it cool and try again.
